Description
Matakana Superfoods Lucuma Organic Powder (loo-coo-ma) fruit traditionally known as “Gold of the Incas” can be identified by its green skin, bright yellow-orange flesh and large seed, similar to an avocado. It is native to the Andean regions of South America where it has been used for thousands of years and is a sacred food item.
Carvings of the fruit have even been discovered on ceramics excavated from ancient burial sites located along the coast of Peru. Our Organic Lucuma Powder is made from whole Peruvian lucuma fruit that has been carefully dehydrated at low temperatures and milled into a fine powder. It has a divine flavour (much like maple syrup with a hint of apricot) and can be used as a delicious 100% natural sweetener.
