Doctors Best Benfotiamine 150 + Alpha-Lipoic Acid 300 helps to support healthy glucose metabolism as well as offering antioxidant support. Benfotiamine is a fat-soluble derivative of thiamine (vitamin B1). It readily passes through intestinal cells and is converted into thiamine and has been found to be more bioavailable, and physiologically more active than thiamine itself.
Benfotiamine helps support healthy cells in the presence of blood glucose as well as supporting against oxidative stress, and healthy aging. Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA), known as the “universal antioxidant”, is a sulphur-containing fatty acid that is soluble in both water and fat. ALA is also a key factor in the cellular process that metabolizes glucose for energy production.
