Description
Skybright Pure Deer Antler Velvet comes from the antlers of male deer, and is the name given to the softer new growth that is covered in velvety hair. Deer Antler Velvet has been used in Chinese medicine for over two thousand years and is well known for its health giving properties.
The traditional uses of velvet antler are many and varied, but they tend to fall into the general categories of support for: body strengthening, blood cell production, the immune system, healthy joint function, cardiovascular health and function.
New Zealand Deer Velvet is of a very high quality and rigorously tested to ensure the standard remains high. The antlers regenerate swiftly every spring (up to 2cm per day), and because of this quick growth, they are a rich source of essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients. The antlers are removed before they harden into bone, by trained and accredited farmers and veterinarians, who ensure minimum discomfort to the deer. The velvet is then freeze-dried to preserve the nutrients and ground to a powder. 1kg of antler will yield approximately 330g of dried powder.
